Major Gary E. Broling, a 27-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department, was promoted to the rank of Major on April 1, 2003.  Major Broling joined the Sheriff’s Department in February of 1978 as a Jail Officer and was appointed to a patrol Deputy status in September of 1979. 

He currently served as one of the department’s Firearms Instructor and Firearms Armorer and has since 1982.  In 1997 Major Broling was promoted to Shift Sergeant and then in 1999 to Shift Captain.   

In 2000, Captain Broling was appointed to serve as Administrative Captain under Sheriff James Arnold, where he assumed the newly created position of Public Information Officer, Quartermaster and Grant Administrator.   

Major Broling continues to handle the Departments Public Information duties, Grant writing and administration, uniform Quartermaster duties along with other various assignments.
